党的十六届六中全会通过了《中共中央关于构建社会主义和谐社会若干重大问题的决定》明确指出:社会和谐是中国特色社会主义的本质属性,是国家富强、民族振兴、人民幸福的重要保证。随后,党的十七大报告指出,要始终注重保障和改善民生,切实解决好人民群众最关心、最直接、最现实的利益问题。检察机关作为党领导的国家法律监督机关,如何以党的十七大精神为指导,以关注民生,重视民生,保障民生,改善民生为切入点,把服务民生作为第一检察要务是检察工作现阶段的重要课题。笔者就检察权在和谐社会语境下保障民生新途径上进行初步探析。
