多协议标记交换是将IP选路的灵活特性和ATM的高速交换结合在一起的技术。移动IP是一种允许用户在到处活动时仍然保持连续的IP网络连接性协议。文中提出了一种方案来综合移动IP和MPLS协议。由于MPLS具有高速交换、少量的状态维护开销和高可量测性的特征,通过综合的方法可以提高移动IP数据转发过程的可量测性。文中还详细说明了综合MPLS与移动IP所必需的信号传输和控制机制。
Multiprotocol Label Switching is a technology that combines the flexibility of IP routing with the high-speed exchange of ATM. Mobile IP is an IP network connectivity protocol that allows users to stay contiguous while they are active around. The paper proposes a scheme to integrate Mobile IP and MPLS protocols. Because MPLS has high-speed switching, a small amount of state maintenance overhead and high scalability characteristics, an integrated approach can improve the scalability of mobile IP data forwarding. The article also details the signal transmission and control mechanisms necessary for integrating MPLS and Mobile IP.
