As a global language, the sole ownership of English, as well as the standard of English worldwide is a eontroversial issue. This paper, based on Kachru's "three concentric circles" and some arguments about varieties of world English, is aimed to find out implications for listening teaching to English major students in China, thus help students improve the effectiveness and ef-ficiency when coping with international communication.
