In the third generation mobile communication system, ATM technology can be used for information transmission on the Iub interface between the BTS platform and the RNC. In this paper, the SAAL (Signaling Adaptation Layer) protocol family that transmits radio resource management signaling and call control signaling through the Iub interface is introduced
