日本梨引入我省栽培已有四十多年历史。1928—1931年开始引入长沙、邵阳,以后又由长沙等引至岳阳、益阳、常德、安江等地。解放后,又从各兄弟省陆续转引一些空白品种.先后引进过:真鍮、、朝日、二宫白、王冠、今村夏、太白、菊水、祗园、江岛、二十世纪、青龙、新高、长十郎、早生赤、赤龙、明月、世界一、八云、赤穗、幸藏、国长、久松、吾妻锦、翠星、新世纪、幸水、博多青、大红花、今村秋、晚三吉、土佐锦等30多个品种.
