The Ministry of Health and the State Food and Drug Administration held a meeting on October 16, 2008, ordering Wandashan Pharmaceutical Factory of Heilongjiang Province to recall all Acanthopanax injections already on the market. The incident originated on October 6, 2008. The State Food and Drug Administration reported that six patients in Honghe Prefecture of Yunnan Province had used Acanthopanax injection labeled “Wandashan Pharmaceutical Factory of Heilongjiang Province” (the batch numbers were 2007122721, 2
