In the past decade, the concentration of atmospheric pollutants NO 2 tends to increase. Although a large number of studies and observations have been made on the effects of NO 2 on animal models and human lungs, there are relatively few reports on the biochemical effects of NO 2 inhalation in humans. The authors compared the biochemical reactions of 19 subjects exposed to 0.2 ppm NO for 22 hours at rest and 15 control subjects exposed to filtered air for 2 hours.
