丁毅,江苏淮安人.我国著名地质矿物学家.1935年毕业于前中央大学地质系;1935~1947年任中央地质调查所调查员、技士;1948~1956年任重庆大学地质系讲师、副教授、系副主任;1956~1981年11月任成都地质学院副教授、教授、系副主任.曾任中国地质学会矿物学专业委员会新矿物及矿物命名委员会委员、四川省硅酸盐学会副理事长等.在地质、矿床等方面,他先后发表《幕府山地质考察》(1935年)、《地磁与地质》(1936年)、《电力探矿在当涂铁矿之初步试验》(1936年,为我国电法勘探领域首开先河)、
