Gerard de Gorter说,Totems十分重视建筑内部及建筑之间的文化内涵,对建筑的社会角色颇感兴趣。它试图将建筑、广告及建筑文化结合起来,通过各种项目来传递文化。因此,通常会通过故事或是主题等与文化相关的元素来凸显建筑内容,从而达到文化传递的效果,绝非因为诸如一个设计很漂亮这样的理由便采用它。相反的,Totems的设计必须要能传递一定的信息,这也正是为何取名Totems的原因。
Gerard de Gorter said that Totems attaches great importance to the cultural connotation within and between buildings and is interested in the social role of architecture. It seeks to combine architecture, advertising, and architectural culture to deliver culture through various projects. Therefore, the content of a building is often highlighted through culturally relevant elements, such as stories or themes, so as to achieve the effect of cultural transmission. It is not because of reasons such as a beautiful design. On the contrary, Totems’ design must be able to pass certain information, which is why it is named Totems.
