The lithium ion battery charging characteristics and related theoretical studies are reviewed. Various charging methods are introduced in detail from the perspective of charging process, and their influences on battery performance are analyzed. The advantages and disadvantages of various methods are also compared, providing a high reference value for lithium ion battery charging in engineering application.
