郑州3号是中国农业科学院郑州果树所用郑州2号与兴城红杂交育成的优良品种。生长期85天左右,果实椭圆形,果皮有绿色、暗绿色两种,上有细网纹,红瓤,肉质脆沙,汁多爽口,含糖量11％左右,单瓜重4—5公斤,皮厚1厘米,种皮麻色,种仁饱满,一般亩产2500—3500公斤,高者可达5000公斤。在1984年全国瓜类评比中,名列第一。在我省种植后,群众普遍反映:“郑州3号西瓜真甜”。但在种植上应注意以下几点:
