Low alloys steel containing RE specimens were carburized in liquid cast-iron at different temperatures and time, and the microstructure, depth and the microhardness of carburized layer were also analyzed. The result shows that the high-temperature and short-term carburizing in liquid cast-iron can gain deeper carburized layer in shorter time, the depth of carburized layer of specimens immersed for 30 s in 1250 and 1280 ℃ liquid cast-iron is about 219 and 237 μm. At the same time, the carburizing technology was discussed preliminarily.
