The recent publication of Prof. Li Guiqing’s monograph by the Seismological Press has 640,000 words and is divided into 4 articles. The first one is the foundation of structural dynamics, and focuses on the calculation methods of the elastic system and the free vibration of variable cross-section bars. This section pays particular attention to the connection between static and dynamic calculations. The connection between ordinary algebra and matrix algebra is characterized by clear concepts, shallow depth, and easy self-study. The second part is the theory of elastic and elasto-plastic seismicity, focusing on the theoretical basis of seismic load calculation methods in China’s seismic codes, and systematically expounding
