On the one hand, Longnan and Sichuan are adjacent to each other. Ancient Shudao thus sells southward through Jianghu and all the tea leaves in Shu. On the other hand, both the military horse and the official horse of the Central Plains dynasty came from the western minority areas and the Western Regions, Mostly obtained through the Silk Road, which made Longnan and Tianshui areas in the middle of the Silk Road and the northern end of the Qin Shudao area become the center of tea-horse reciprocity before the Ming Dynasty. Tea-Horse Road has played a significant role in promoting the economic development, cultural exchange and emotional communication between the North and the South nationalities. Since the Song Dynasty, however, it has played a greater role in supplying military forces to the court and guaranteeing social stability.
