利用对冰川侧碛中的各化石土壤层进行~(14)C年代测定,确定了喜马拉雅山和喀喇昆仑山冰川的变化。对巴基斯坦、印度和尼泊尔的16条冰川进行了68次年代测定,表明了下述时期的冰川前进(以距今年数计):19500±1500(1次测定),约12700(1次测定),7400(2次测定),4900—4600(5次测定),3700—3100(12次测定),2700—2100(14次测定,分为两次变动,间断期为距今2500—2300),1700—1500(10次测定),1200—950(2次测定),800(2次测定),550(2次测定)和400—100(7次测定)。相对较小的冰川前进发生在:12700(14000?),7500,7000(?)—5000,4500—3800,3000—2700(间断期为2500—2300),2100—1700,500。在野外没有找到冰川跃动的证据。进行考察的冰川的大小和变化均可与欧洲阿尔卑斯山的冰川进行比较。两地区全新世冰川演变史看来是一致的。
The changes of glaciers in the Himalayas and Karakorum glaciers have been determined by the ~ (14) C dating of each fossil soil layer in the glacial moraine. Sixty-six dating observations of 16 glaciers in Pakistan, India and Nepal indicate the glacier advance (from the year before) for the following periods: 19500 ± 1500 (1 test), about 12700 (1 test), 7400 (two determinations), 4900-4600 (five determinations), 3700-3100 (12 determinations), 2700-2100 (14 determinations divided into two variations with an interruption of 2500-2300 years ago), 1700 -1500 (10 determinations), 1200-950 (2 determinations), 800 (2 determinations), 550 (2 determinations) and 400-100 (7 determinations). Relatively small glacier advances occur at 12700 (14000?), 7500, 7000 (?) - 5000, 4500-3800, 3000-2700 (2500-2300 with a break), 2100-1700,500. No evidence of glacial jumps was found in the wild. The size and variations of the glaciers inspected can be compared with glaciers in the European Alps. The evolution of Holocene glaciers in both regions seems consistent.
