This article reports the application of vagus nerve stimulation in the treatment of refractory patients with partial epilepsy, 14 patients in both groups were single-blind prospective study. Methods: A buried neural controlled prosthesis (NCP) was applied including a pulse generator embedded in the skin of the chest similar to a pacemaker; a bipolar stimulation lead electrode placed subcutaneously in the anterior skin of the sternocleidomastoid muscle Near the left vagus nerve; a program software that correlates the stimulus parameters with the pulsator. The generator delivers intermittent stimulation according to the procedure. In addition, the patient or observer uses an external magnetic field to excite the generator to generate additional pulse stimulation. Case history of epilepsy more than one year, aged 15 to 58 years old, has always insisted on taking antiepileptic drugs and more than 6 episodes per month, the attack interval of less than two weeks of patients.
