武汉水利电力学院河流泥沙工程学教研室从事泥沙工程的教学工作已三十年,教学经验丰富,科研成果累累,是我国研究泥沙问题的基地之一。六十年代曾编写出版了《河流动力学》及《河道整治》等教材,颇受当时水利界的欢迎。经过二十年的实践总结。在原基础上,将有关泥沙工程的内容合并,编写出版了《河流泥沙工程学》教材。这是我国仅有的一套完整的泥沙工程学教材。在国际上,将泥沙工程编写成一套大学教材,也无先例。无论从科学水平上来评价,还是从教材要求来看,这本教材都是值得称道的。其特色主要表现在以下四个方面:(1)密切联系我国实际,具有我国教材的色彩,本书在内容、举例、引用资料等方面都从我国实际出发,成为名副其实的我国教材。譬如在工程泥沙问题中,突出水库淤积问题;在泥沙运动的基本规律
