山县有朋(1838—1922),近代日本帝国陆军的缔造者,多次出任陆军大臣、参谋总长,两次组阁任总理大臣,并多次出任内务大臣、法务大臣和枢密院议长等职。中日甲午战争前期,任日军第一军司令官、陆军大臣;日俄战争期间,任参谋总长兼兵站总监。1909年伊藤博文遇刺身亡,山县成了最有影响力的元老,并享有陆军元帅称号。
Friends of Yamagata Prefecture (1838-1922), the founder of the modern Japanese Imperial Army, has repeatedly served as Secretary of the Army, Chief of Staff, twice as cabinet minister, and served on several occasions as Minister of the Interior, Minister of Justice and Privy Council Speaker. In the early Sino-Japanese Jiawu war, he served as commander of the Japanese First Corps and Minister of the Army; during the Russo-Japanese War, he served as chief of staff and director of the station. In 1909 Assad was assassinated, Yamauchi became the most influential veteran, and enjoy the title of Marshal Marshal.
