身材矮小在临床上较常见,但真正的垂体性侏儒则少见,区别垂体侏儒和其它原因引起的侏儒对指导治疗有重要意义。血循环中生长激素(growth hormone,GH)水平为确定诊断提供重要依据,使用双抗体放射免疫分析法可较精确测定GH浓度。人体血GH波动很大,正常人随机血标本GH水平很低,有时甚至测不出,不能反映真正的垂体功能。GH分泌受多种因素影响,某些生理和药理刺激可使正常人垂体释放大量GH,因此可利用这些刺激测定垂体GH释放能力。GH刺激试验正常
