2011年8月,有消息说,美国参议员特德·肯尼迪等在美国国会倡议美国效仿欧洲,执行艺术品交易追续权,引发观察家注意。分析认为,尽管这次追续权涉及范围仅仅是艺术品拍卖,而不包括画廊销售,但是若美国最终效法欧洲,那么其影响将是巨大的,至少已经成名的全球当代视觉艺术家们将因此获得丰厚的回报。
In August 2011, it was reported that the United States Senator Ted Kennedy and other advocates in the United States Congress that the United States emulate Europe and enforce the right of artistic transactions to renew and trigger the attention of observers.
