摩托车作为一种交通工具,以其价格便宜、方便快捷、耗油率低、易于操作以及对道路适应性强等特点,备受人们的喜爱,并且已经成为普通劳动者勤劳致富的象征和小康生活的标志。尤其是青年一族,更为拥有一辆上档次的摩托车而感到“潇洒”。然而,在现有的摩托车一族中,许多摩托车驾驶员尤其是年轻的摩托车手,只顾一时风流和潇洒,却忽视自身和他人的交通安全,骑着摩托车风驰电掣出现在街头巷尾,违章超载、超速,甚至连起码的安全头盔也不佩带,由此而引发的道路交通事故也是有增无减,居高不下,一直被称为交通事故的“第一杀手”。如何预防和遏制因摩托车驾驶员交通违章而引发的道路交通事故,是当前全省各级公安交通管理部门在开展对摩托车集中整治工作中迫切需要解决的问题。为此,本刊编辑部约请部分基层民警和本刊通讯员,就摩托车族的安全问题以及如何整治摩托车交通违章发表他们的观点及见解。
