From September 22 to September 1996, the annual meeting of the World Railway Association was held in Hong Kong. About 100 members attended the meeting and visited the Hong Kong Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation, the Hong Kong MTR Corporation Limited and the Airport Railway.
