2003年3月31日上午,“中国儿童少年安全教育基地”开业暨首届“全国中小学生安全教育博览会”开幕仪式在北京市朝阳区东坝特色果园内举行,全国妇联书记处书记、中国儿童少年基金会副会长莫文秀,北京市教委、北京市交管局等有关领导出席了此次活动。莫文秀在讲话中说道,1999年全国有40～50万儿童因意外受伤,有2万儿童非正常死亡,即每天有50多名少儿被意外事故夺去
On the morning of March 31, 2003, the opening ceremony of “China Children and Teenager Safety Education Base” and the first “National Safety Education Exposition for Primary and Secondary Students” was held in the Dongba characteristic orchard in Chaoyang District, Beijing. The secretary of the National Women’s Federation Secretariat and the China Children and Teenager Vice Chairman of the Foundation Mo Wenxiu, Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Beijing Municipal Traffic Management Bureau and other relevant leaders attended the event. In his speech, Mo Wenxiu said that in 1999, 400,000 to 500,000 children were injured in the country due to accidents and 20,000 children died of abnormalities, that is, more than 50 children were taken away by accidents every day
