2010年,中共北京市委第十届七次全会上提出了建设世界城市的发展目标,这一具有重要意义的决策,是发展模式的升级,是向新的经济增长方式转变的战略举措。对学界而言,这是一个全新的聚焦课题,如何将北京建设成为具有中国特色的世界城市,引起了社会各界的深入研究和探讨。在首都经济研究方面,房价问题关注度上升,专家学人调查分析,积极建言献策,讨论促进房地产市场平稳健康发展,调控房价的有效对策;首都的创意文化产业研究持续深入;进一步发展北京高科技服务业,是很多研究者的共识。在社会与人口研究方面,北京的人口规模与布局和人口老龄化等仍是研究的热点。此外,高校毕业生的就业问题受到教育专家的关注。
