The American novelist John Steinbeck’s “Chrysanthemum” is a famous work by which the author cares about the civilian life and expresses the psychological feelings of the people at the bottom. Interpreting Steinbeck’s work on the basis of Freud’s personality theory and psychoanalysis will allow us to have a more in-depth understanding of the symbolic significance of his novels and the topics covered in the novel.
