So far, a number of factors in the mechanical structure have limited the size and throughput of the shaker. However, the new vibrating screens manufactured by the Pennsylvania Crusher Company overcome the structural limitations. Known as the PennTechnic Sieve, this sieve incorporates a new horizontal gear-driven exciter that excites vibrations greater than previously available so it offers unprecedented throughput and screening efficiency. Some of the new models have a unique tilted screen with a slanted sieve along the entire length of the sieve, which screens much more efficiently than normal horizontal screens and has nearly twice the processing capacity of a sieve of the same size. PennTechnic screens have two basic types: the BHG “Banana” type and the WHG “Waffle” type.
