历代韵文,一向为考察语音史所重视。元杂剧的曲章与口语的关系,较之各代诗词更为直接。分别作家的不同里贯,剖析剧曲韵读的异同,既可窥见当时语音或方音之一斑,又对考索“曲韵之祖”《中原音韵》一书的性质及其音系,提示可资比较的参证。本文就着山东人剧曲的用韵,试作观察。一据元人钟嗣成《录鬼薄》及无名氏《录鬼薄续编》,把有剧作传世的七位作家表列于下。
