INTRODUCTION As a symbolic carrier of social and cultural ideas, literature has marked a change in people’s cultural attitudes and behavior patterns at the same time as marked by the historical era. Faced with a complex and changeable human society, many keen insightful writers accurately capture the social changes and resort to words. The rebellious spirit of the American anti-mainstream cultural movement that erupted in the 1960s inherited the “Beat Generation” writers of the 1950s. “Beat Generation ” Writers’ works contain the ideology, ways of thinking and value orientation of social subjects in the 1950s.
