蒲松龄所著《聊斋志异》中的一些篇目揭示了中外交往的状况,关涉到的历史信息主要有中国与属国的交往、“天朝上国”观念下中国人对异域的想象和认知以及中国人对西方殖民者侵略的恐惧等。这些具有史学价值,可将其与正史资料相对照,以资相互补充印证,需要对其中的史学性问题严加考证推论。《聊斋志异》相关中外交往的内容表现出一定的真实性,还具有笼统性和模糊性,这也导致了其史学的价值和局限并存。
Some of the articles in “Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio” by Pu Songling reveal the status of exchanges between China and the rest of the world.
