奉节贝母又名湖北贝母(Fritillaria hupensis Hsiao et K.C.Hsia)。百合科多年生草本,以鳞茎供药用,为常用中药材。能清热润肺,化痰止咳。野生于四川、湖北两省毗邻的奇跃山,家种始于四川的奉节县,现发展至湖北省利川、建始、思施等县。在海拔800—1400米,土壤肥沃,排水良好,向阳环境都可栽种。系贝母中新发展的种。而且能无性繁殖,可一年提供产品。奉节贝母加工,原用“石灰乳浸泡法”。我们于1978年试验研究成功“硫磺薰法”,
Fengjie fritillary is also known as Fritillaria hupensis Hsiao et K.C. Hsia. Perennial herb of lily family, with bulbs for medicinal purposes, is a commonly used Chinese herbal medicine.
