Foundry 100BaseFX Ethernet Interface Module Adopts - Offers High Density and Broad Distances for MAN Access and Enterprise Connectivity Foundry Networks recently introduced its new interface module for its Layer 3 switch Big-lron, which can High-density 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet connection over singlemode fiber. The new interface module will provide up to 24 Fast Ethernet ports and will extend the transmission distance through single-mode fiber to 40km. The two new 100Base-FX interfaces that transmit over single-mode fiber support different transmission distances. The 100Base-FX short-range interface module supports single-mode fiber transmission up to 12 km and the mid-range interface module supports single-mode fiber transmission up to 40 km. The new 100BaseFX interface module over existing multimode
