1937年“七七”事变前,我曾就读于南京栖霞乡村师范学校(以下称栖师或学校)。忆及当年校内的不少情况,可能鲜为人知。栖师要求学生做多面手参加农业劳动是必修课栖师创办于20世纪20年代后期,坐落在南京东郊栖霞山西南麓。学校大门口分左右悬挂着一副大字对联,上联为:欢聚一堂,得天下英才而教。下联为:弦歌四野,树乡村文化之基。其校歌的开头两句是“栖霞山在旁边,扬子江在面前”。校徽是一张铜质精制的枫叶,在红色的叶面上,印着“栖霞乡师”4个方体金字,显示着学校所在地山明水秀、红叶遍野的特色风光。
