Charo et al. At the Karolinska Institute in Sweden are investigating ways to immunize cells with DNA encoding Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) antigens. They considered the nuclear protein EBNA-4 antigen a promising candidate, so a plasmid containing the EBNA-4-encoding gene was constructed and injected into mice. They solved EB by attacking mice with human breast cancer cells expressing EBNA-4 antigen instead of EBV
