城域网是城市信息化的基础,技术上它应满足话音、视频点播(ＶＯＤ)、虚拟专用网(ＶＰＮ)、高速Ｉｎｔｅｒｎｅｔ接入、企业互联、交互式游戏、远程监控监测、远程教育、远程医疗、社区服务等多种业务需求。当前主流的城域网技术方案主要有ＡＴＭ、千兆以太网(ＧＥ)、基于ＳＤＨ的多业务提供平台(ＭＳＰＰ)、ＤＷＤＭ多业务平台以及城域ＲＰＲ(弹性分组环)。其中ＤＷＤＭ和ＲＰＨ在构建下一代宽带城域多业务数据网的技术中最具应用前景。
