Headache is a common symptom in clinic, which often occurs alone or in many acute and chronic diseases. In Yi Bian (<医碥>), it was said that the head is the room storing lucid yang, and if the six extal pathogenic factors invade the head from the outside, or the pathogens in the six Fu-organs and meridians flow reversely, the clear qi in the head will be disturbed causing headache; in treating headache it is necessary to differentiate the intal factors and extal factors, deficiency syndrome and excess syndrome.
