同源异型盒基因是控制女性生殖道胚胎细胞发育和分化的重要因子,近年发现其异常表达与妇科肿瘤发生发展有关。研究发现在卵巢癌中HOXA7,B7,BARX2,DLX4基因与肿瘤的恶性型有关,HOXA9,10,11基因与肿瘤向不同组织类型分化有关,CDX2基因可作为胃肠道转移性卵巢癌的标记;在子宫内膜癌中HOXA13,D10基因对肿瘤的发展分别起促进和抑制作用,HOXA10基因在内膜癌中的作用尚有争议;对宫颈癌的研究发现,部分HOX基因在肿瘤组织中呈过表达;而对滋养细胞肿瘤的研究中发现,DLX4可能参与肿瘤侵袭。
