Due to historical reasons, this area used to be a shed for the construction of Beijing Railway Station in the 1950s. After several decades of development, it gradually formed a dormitory area of railroad workers with poor facilities and transformed itself from barrenness to drinking However, since the foundation of this area is so poor that there is no decent and large municipal conditions, the irregularly built sheds have been used so far to form a low, deep, populous Dense “shanty town.”
