7000年前,漆艺从中国古代河姆渡文化走来,一路历经战国时期的灿烂辉煌,汉唐时期的庄重高雅,明清以来的精巧细腻,及至当代急浊之下,东方漆艺术流落成“准保护艺术”。7000年后,他说,“然而,以我国为代表的东方漆艺术和西方油画艺术却被公认为是东、西方对人类文明的两大贡献。漆画是真正的中国画,这已经成为人们的共识。”
