The text contains research data on the switching effects in chalcogenide semiconductor layers. The concept of the limiting thickness of the layer that can be used as a switch is described. The switch can operate in the range of 2.5 to 70 to 100 volts and the switching current ranges from 10 to -5) to 8 × 10 ~ (-3) Ann. Using the method of study time parameter shows that the switching speed is mainly affected by the delay time (10 ~ (-7) seconds)
