1964年8月27日,北京科学討論会工科报告会正在进行着,在設备完善的学术报告厅里坐满了亚洲、非洲,拉丁美洲和大洋洲各国的科学家,他們都聚精会神地傾听着我国工人出身的工程师倪志福宣讀《倪志福钻头》論文。在論文宣讀以后,外国科学家向他热烈祝贺,在討論論文的时候,大家对倪志福钻头给予了很高的評价。原来文化水平很低的普通工人登上了世界科学讲坛,这在中国科学史上还是破天荒的事情。这說明了中国工人阶級的智慧被束縛的时代已經結束,
On August 27, 1964, the Beijing Science Symposium on Engineering was underway.
