江西省中药管理委员会为进一步调查本省出产中药的供、产、销情况,并制订中药初步标准工作,重点的在修水、武宁、铜鼓、庐山等地区进行用植物的调查和采集工作。为求工作顺利展开,特组织中药调查小组,其成员由省卫生厅,药材公司,合作总社、药科学校,中国药学会南昌分会、江西省中药实验院等单位共同组成,于七月十三日由南昌出发,至八月十九日返回南昌,采集了标本一百四十一种,共计四百八十九份。
