数学科課外作業对於巩固和加深学生既得知識,培养学生的計算能力和独立工作能力等方面是有重大意义的。正因为如此,我們絕大多数的数学教师,都非常重視課外作業的檢查工作,有些教师为了能作到及时地、詳細地、全面地批改每个学生的課外作業,佔用了很多时間,甚至平均每日达到四、五小时之多,常常批改到深夜,毫無疑問地,这种积極的、不辞劳苦的工作态度,这种高度的負責精神是我們全体教师都应該学習的。但是这样,就發生了一个問題,教师每日能工作的时間有限,像这样过多地把时間用在批改課外作業上,势必減少鑽研教材的时間,減少了备課的时間和进修的时間。这样一来,就形成一种惡性的循环。即,教师的業务水平不能提高,备課不够充分和細致,上課就不能上得好,学生在課堂上不能很好地理解教材,不能掌握一定程度的技能和技巧,因而,課外作業就不能完成的很好,缺点和錯誤就要多,而教师批改这样的作業就要更多地花費时間,更严重地影响教师的备課和进修。並且如果教师每日都是忙到深夜,也減少了睡眠时間,
