利用向日葵螟产卵在向日葵筒状花内的习性,调整播期使向日葵花期与向日葵螟产卵期错期,达到避免或降低向日葵螟危害的目的。2009年在巴彦淖尔市利用性诱剂进行成虫动态观测,并在三个旗县区采用当地主栽美葵LD5009品种进行播期试验,从5月1日开始,每隔5天一个播期,共分10次进行播期避害试验。结果表明,巴彦淖尔地区危害向日葵的向日葵螟成虫主要有两个蛾峰,分别在6月下旬至7月上旬,以及8月中旬;向日葵螟在巴彦淖尔市从东到西各试验区向日葵受害程度依次严重;5月15日前播种的各处理,表现出播期越早受害越重的趋势,葵盘和籽粒平均最低受害率为85.37%和34.33%;5月30日以后,随播种期的推迟受害再次逐渐加重,但晚播籽粒受害率较轻。在巴彦淖尔市利用调整播期避免或减轻葵螟为害,美葵LD5009的最佳播种期为5月20日—6月5日。
