综合英语课是英语专业基础阶段的一门主要课程。原名为“精读课”与泛读课相对。因为不能完全反映课程的实际内容—训练综合技能,且易造成误解。为此,根据其训练要求和内容,改为“综合英语课”。综合英语课的设置至今已有多年,其间各种教学法:语法翻译法,直接法,情景法,听说法以及交际法都对其产生过不同程度的影响。而以翻译法,交际法为最。两种教法有何不同?有无互相借鉴之处?在实际教学中能否取两者所长为我所用?
