“繁满”是西汉艺术普遍具有的一种审美特征。汉大赋文辞华丽、物象重叠,漆器、彩绘陶器、丝织品构图饱满、纹饰繁复、色彩华美。“繁满”的审美特征是西汉繁荣富强的时代精神的折射,与社会上层追求奢华的社会心理以及儒家文化以纹饰彰显尊贵身份的思想有一定的关系。同时,“繁满”的审美特征还与楚文化推崇艳丽色彩和善于铺张的艺术气质有一定的渊源关系。
