李可染的艺术成就,主要体现在山水画领域,他是一位具有时代标记的,进行了开创性艺术创造的山水画革新家。他的山水画创作影响深广,具有迥然不同于古人和当代人的特殊艺术风格和艺术语言,在理论上自成体系,学生及追随者甚众,被称为“李派山水”,“李可染画派”。他以独特的个性风格,体现了现代山水画的时代共性。他是一位开派画家,也是一位开创时代画风的画家之一。
