In October 2015, the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of Culture) announced the results of the second batch of national key art museum assessments. The Guangzhou Art Museum (formerly Guangzhou Art Museum) successfully passed the selection of the Ministry of Culture and became the nation’s 13 “National Key Art Museum ” one.
