通过对1254例胃部疾患病人中的255例胃粘膜肠化生病人的回顾性研究发现，幽门螺杆菌（HP）阳性及肠化生在发病年龄上大于55岁者较小于55岁老常见，HP阳性患者肠化生发生率显著高于HP阴性患者。表明HP感染与胃粘膜肠化生二者之间存在着相关性。
A retrospective study of 255 patients with gastric mucosal metaplasia in 1254 patients with gastric disorders found that both H. pylori (HP) positive and those with metaplasia at age of onset greater than 55 years old were less common than 55 years old The incidence of intestinal metaplasia in HP-positive patients was significantly higher than that in HP-negative patients. This indicates that there is a correlation between HP infection and gastric metaplasia.
