Catheter ablation is the most promising method to heal atrial fibrillation (AF).In the past decade,catheter ablation developed very quickly.Though it is controversial that if catheter ablation can be used as the first line therapy for atrial fibrillation,several researches have shown that ablation is superior to antiarorhythmia drug therapy both in success rate and the quality of life of patients.Now the problem is how to choose the optimal procedure for various type of atrial fibrillation in order to increase the success rate.More efforts should be placed both in basic research and randomized controlled clinical trial to improve the technologies of atrial fibrillation-ablation.
