改革开放以来，史学史研究取得了丰硕成果。在新的世纪，中国的史学史研究将面临什么样的任务？会遇到哪些挑战？其发展的趋势如何？前景怎样？这些都是大家所关注的问题。为此，本刊编辑部与院史学研究所以“走向21世纪的史学史研究”为题，特约了北京、上海等地的几位史学史专家与本校学者共同控讨这一问题。他们从不同角度，或作宏观展望，或专论某一问题，各抒已见，畅所欲言，颇多真知灼见。现将笔谈发表，以飨读者。同时也希望能有更多的学者参与这种讨论，以便推动史学史学科的健康发展。
Since the reform and opening up, the history of history studies have achieved fruitful results. In the new century, what kind of tasks will the Chinese history and history study face? What are the challenges? What is the trend of its development? What is the future? These are all issues of concern to everyone. To this end, the editorial department and the Institute of Institute of History, “with the history of the history of the 21st century study” as a topic, special in Beijing, Shanghai and other places of history historians and scholars together to discuss this issue. From different perspectives, they have either macroscopic perspectives or monographs on specific issues. They all express their opinions and speak their minds freely. They have a lot of insights. Now published in writing to readers. At the same time, I hope more scholars can participate in this kind of discussion in order to promote the healthy development of the history of history.
